چکیده

Abstract. The Indian capital megacity of Delhi is reeling under deteriorating air quality, and control measures are not yielding any significant changes, mainly due to a poor understanding sources emissions; hence, priority option in mitigation planning lacking. In this paper, we have made an attempt develop spatially resolved technological high-resolution gridded (∼0.4km×0.4km) emission inventory for eight major pollutants the region where activity data all possible unattended minor generated by organizing mega-campaign involving hundreds volunteers. It first time that able estimate decadal growth emissions various comparing newly developed 2020 with SAFAR (System Air Quality Weather Forecasting Research) 2010 using identical methodology quantum data. estimated annual PM2.5, PM10, CO, NOx, VOC, SO2, BC, OC over National Capital Region (NCR) be 123.8, 243.6, 799.0, 488.9, 730.0, 425.8, 33.6, 20.3 Gg yr−1, respectively, year 2020. (2010–2020) PM2.5 PM10 found marginal at 31 % 3 %, respectively. maximum transport sector followed industrial other sectors. Maximum OC, NOx 57 34 91 shift sectorial changing policies examined. complete dataset available on Zenodo https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7715595 (Sahu et al., 2023).

Vehicular emission inventory of criteria pollutants in Delhi

The rapid urbanization in Delhi has resulted in a tremendous increase in the number of motor vehicles with the increase in population and urban mobilization. The vehicular traffic is now recognized as one of the main sources of air pollution in Delhi and has noticeable impact on air quality. The emission of criteria pollutants namely Carbon Monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and Particulate Ma...

Status of Air Pollutants after Implementation of CNG in Delhi

Air pollution kills more than 5.9 million people annually, with more than 90 per cent of these deaths in capital city of India, Delhi. For improving the status of air pollution in Delhi, various policies and laws have been implemented. But even after the implementation of CNG, there was no significant change of pollutants (NOx, O3, SPM, RSPM & CO) except SO2. The objective of our study is wheth...

Impact of Air Pollutants on Atmospheric Visibility in Delhi

The air pollution problem has been serious in Delhi due to the rapidly expanding economic, industrial and vehicular developments. It has significant influences on atmospheric visibility, whose degradation dominates in urban areas. Increased air pollution in urban area may lead to the atmospheric reactions, resulting into the formation of secondary pollutants similar to cloud the condensation pr...

Prediction of Major Pollutants Emission in Direct-Injection Dual-Fuel Diesel And Natural-Gas Engines

The dual-fuel diesel engine (D.F.D.E) is a conventional diesel engine in which much of the energy released, hence power, comes from the combustion of gaseous fuel such as natural gas. The exhaust emission characteristics of the D.F.D.E needs further refinements, particularly in terms of reduction of Unburnt Hydrocarbons (U7HC) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) emission, because the concentration of thes...
